Chlorine Plant Scrubber System

Our Chlorine Plant Scrubber System incorporates the most advanced design and performance features. The completely skid-mounted system is typically integrated with a Sodium Hypochlorite Wet Chlorine Production System in a chlor-alkali plant. We can supply a Sodium Hydroxide Blending/Dilution System that integrates with the Chlorine Plant Scrubber to dilute 32% or 50% sodium hydroxide to the required final strength. The scrubbing solution is typically 18-20% sodium hydroxide.

Advantages

This scrubber can be supplied up to a nominal rate of 500 tons per day of chlorine. It is designed to take the full output from the chlor-alkali plant and neutralize all the chlorine to levels of 3-5 PPM of chlorine at the discharge point. The chlorine discharge concentrations are by design and can be adjusted to meet plant requirements.

Different design rates can be accomplished. Each system is designed based on customer requirements.

Tower discharge temperatures can be controlled by heat exchangers and recycle rates through the tower and are usually limited to 160°F – 170°F (70°C – 75°C).

Choices of materials, instruments, pumps and controls are flexible and will depend on the final design of the system. Depending on the final location of the equipment, either ASME, ANSI, or DIN systems design will apply.
