We have a variety of control panel options available to upgrade existing sodium hypochlorite production systems and can supply a complete control system that is designed, assembled, programmed, and tested. Since the upgrade updates the original wiring to provide complete PLC control, a new unit eliminates the need for individual controllers and panel-mounted indicators. All control and final indication are done with a color touch screen mounted on the front of the panel. Additional screen displays can also be included to provide remote indication and/or control.
It also is expandable and provides increased reliability, thus reducing downtime and emergency maintenance service calls. It supports future automation, such as tank farm level monitoring, tank farm valve management, or gas detection systems.
The modern control system is more compact, uses less power, and operates cooler than previous devices. The technology is less affected by temperature extremes, vibration, and other elements typically found in an industrial setting.
We use industrial PLC control systems such as Allen Bradley and Siemens. Control systems are installed in weatherproof enclosures and may be affixed to the production system frame if not remote mounted. A touch screen HMI (Human Machine Interface) is typically included so that the operator can easily view all critical process data. This information can be networked to our other equipment, an existing DCS (Distributed Control System), or other control systems using several common protocols.
VPN devices provide a secure, remote connection to the system, allowing us to provide programming updates and assist in troubleshooting, when necessary. We can provide UL listed or CE marked control panels to meet a variety of electrical classifications.
These systems display all relevant data in real time such as set points, flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and other critical measurements. The data is presented on a single 15″ touch screen that is laid out using color graphics. This operator friendly color touch system reduces training requirements and eliminates the need for an operator to know how to control several different instruments mounted to the sodium hypochlorite production system.
Screens may be password protected, thus preventing unauthorized access. The screens indicate the status of each required process loop for sodium hypochlorite production. If the production system will not start, an authorized operator can instantly identify the issue by reviewing the interlock indicators and can take corrective action.
It also provides improved control of final product specifications and repeatability, thus reducing raw material consumption. To allow for greater inventory accuracy, it is possible to track the usage of process water, caustic and chlorine. The trending of data aids in projecting future inventory needs.
Our systems are supported by our experienced technicians who can provide startup, operator training, or perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration. Additional charges may apply for these services.
