Information Systems Specialist

Job Summary

This full-time position reports to the Controller. 

Join our dynamic team as an Information Systems Specialist and become a vital driver of our technological excellence! This position reports to the Controller. The Information Systems Specialist is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s information systems, including custom applications, databases, and end-user environments. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of systems while aligning technology solutions with business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Provide end-user technical support by responding to and resolving help desk tickets, troubleshooting hardware, software, and system access issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance custom applications using Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, ASP.NET, WinForms, and VB.NET or C#.
  • Support and maintain web-based tools and internal applications used by engineering and business teams.
  • Administer and optimize SQL Server databases, including writing queries, generating reports, and supporting transactional systems.
  • Manage and maintain enterprise systems, including ERP (Syspro), Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM platforms (Dynamics 365), and related integrations.
  • Install, configure, and deploy software updates, patches, and system enhancements across the organization.
  • Monitor and manage software licensing and subscriptions (e.g., Microsoft 365, Adobe, Dynamics).
  • Support automation and integration initiatives to improve business processes and data flow between systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology optimization.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and technical configurations to support knowledge transfer and continuity of operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Maintain proficiency in modern programming languages, database technologies, development tools, and applicable IT standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple technical projects at the same time, with the ability to prioritize efforts in the direction most needed by the company.
  • Ability to lead projects and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training sessions at the appropriate technical level.
  • Ability to work independently.

Education & Experience

  • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or evidence of equivalent certification and experience.
  • Three years or more experience in application development using languages such as .NET (C#/VB), or similar technologies, database technologies, and web application development (WordPress, ASP.NET).
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or operations-driven environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting custom-built business applications, integration, and data management is highly preferred.
